Trinity International University Chapel

Chapel Calendar

Worship is at the heart of the Christian life and at the heart of our mission as a university. Chapel plays a crucial role in forming us into a community that worships God and, thus, to offer all that we know and do as means of glorifying him. Under the leadership of the Chaplain, there are two separate chapel programs at Trinity: one for Trinity College and the other for Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Trinity Graduate School. Please visit the respective pages for more information about each program (by clicking on the links or on the menu above).

In addition to these distinct chapel programs, the entire Trinity community gathers together for worship four times per academic year for All-University Convocation, Day of Prayer (1 per semester) and Baccalaureate.

All-University Convocation

The All-University Convocation that marks the beginning of fall semester is usually held the Wednesday following the first week of class. The university library and offices are closed so that all faculty, students, and staff from Trinity’s various schools may come together, united in worship and purpose. Worship is usually led by a team of administrators, students, faculty, and staff that gives visible expression to the diversity of the Trinity community. Through a presidential address, we are reminded of our calling as a Christian university and that we live and serve for the glory of God.

Day of Prayer

Once every semester, classes are suspended for a Day of Prayer. The purpose of this day is to make room for more sustained prayer as well as times of personal and corporate reflection. The morning is spent in creative, concerted prayer together in the chapel. In the afternoons, advisor/advisee groups continue in prayer, fellowship, and other activities.

“It's great when you play music, but it's even better when you've helped someone else do it.”
