What am I searching in the library search box?

The search box on the library home page allows you to search a variety of our catalogs and databases. Here is a description of what you're searching:

TrinCat - finds books, journals, and media at the Trinity library

I-Share - finds books from other Illinois libraries.  More about I-Share

Journal articles - searches most of the article databases provided through the vendor EbscoHost. Databases searched include Academic Search Premier, ATLA, PsycInfo, ERIC, and Business Source Elite. See full list of databases searched. Some databases are not searched, including JSTOR, Lexis-Nexis, ARDA, MedLine, and TREN, among others. To see all databases not searched, go to the databases page and look at the vendors. Any databases not from EbscoHost are not searched.

Google Scholar - searches for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts and articles. For sources not available full-text online, search TrinCat to see if it's available through the library.
