Financial Aid for Extension Students

Trinity Evangelical Divinity School offers a limited number of financial aid options to help students pay for expenses in the Extension program. Please review the options listed below carefully because each option may require the fulfillment of a number of criteria.

Extension and Site Discounts

In recognizing the financial constraints that nontraditional students are under in affording graduate level education, courses taken through Trinity extension are discounted from the regular cost of tuition charged at the Deerfield campus. Also, a number of the church-based extension sites offer further site discounts to enable students to enroll in Trinity courses for academic credit.

The only requirement to receive the Extension and Site discount is to be enrolled for Trinity academic credit at one of the extension locations.

Full-time Ministry Rebates

The Full-time Ministry Rebate is available to all full-time persons in church or parachurch ministry positions enrolled in Trinity's Master of Arts (Christian Studies) (MA/CS) or Master of Arts in Urban Ministry (MA in UM) programs and taking classes through an extension location or Distance Education. This is a first-come, first-served financial assistance program, which means that this discount is available until funds for this discount are depleted. To receive this benefit the following are required:

1. enrollment in the MA/CS or MA in UM degree program as an Extension student (Note: Visiting Student status does not comprise enrollment in the MA/CS program),
2. the completion of the Full-time Ministry Rebate or the Full-time Urban Ministry Rebate application,
3. a letter from your church or parachurch organization on official letterhead and signed by an officer of the church or parachurch ministry, other than yourself, indicating your full-time ministry position, and
4. submit the appropriate Ministry Rebate application to the extension site registrar or Distance Education Office at time of course registration.

Full-time Ministry Rebates for the 2007-08 academic year:

• this discount is $25/semester hour for TEDS based sites (the basic rebate is $12.50/semester hour for those in the MA/CS program enrolled as Columbus, Madison, or Milwaukee program students, but may vary by site).
• this discount is $62/semester hour for those in the MA in UM program.

Note: In the event that an application to the MA/CS or MA in UM program is in process or in the process of being submitted to the TEDS Admissions Office, but enrollment into the program has not yet been offered, the full-time minister may take one semester of courses at this rebate, however, the rebate will not be further applied until they are accepted into either the MA/CS or MA in UM degree program as extension students.
