DE 5650 Introduction to Muslim Evangelism

Course Description
A practical and theological study to introduce the student to Islam and to Christian witness and ministry within the house of Islam. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the Muslim mind and sharing the Savior within it. This is a lab course. The laboratory is not on your seminary campus. Two hours.
Course Objectives
- The student will prayerfully consider his or her responsibilities to the unreached 1,000,000,000 Muslims both in the West and in the Muslim world.
- The student will take steps toward understanding Islam from within, as Muslims understand themselves, and from without, as Christians understand Muslims.
- The student will begin to learn how to share Christ with Muslims through both theory and practice.
- The student will become better equipped for a life of faithfully ministering to Muslims and/or better prepared as pastors and teachers for effectively supporting missions to Muslims.
- The student will become familiar with some of the literature dealing with Islam and Christian-Muslim relations.
- The student will have ignited within him or her an attitude of research into Islam and how to communicate the Savior with Muslims.
- The student will become acquainted with opportunities for witness to Muslims at home and overseas.
