Summer 1984 - Performer in Vincent Cichowicz's Summer Master Class and participant in Arnold Jacobs' Summer Workshop, both held at Northwestern University.
Summer 1983 - One of five in the nation selected through tape audition to attend Trumpet Lab 1983, a workshop directed by Susan Slaughter, principal trumpet of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. The workshop focused on orchestral playing.
