Trinity Announces the EFCA Ordained Family Scholarship

Trinity International University, the only Evangelical Free Church of America university in the United States, has announced the new scholarship amount for the EFCA Ordained Family Scholarship for the sons and daughters of ordained EFCA pastors, staff, and missionaries.
The EFCA Ordained Family Scholarship provides eligible new students with $13,000 in total gift aid from Trinity International University, including any academic, athletic, music, or other scholarships for which a student might be eligible. Trinity values the ministry of those serving in the Free Church and seeks to make an undergraduate education at Trinity more affordable for their sons and daughters.
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
A qualifying new student with no other financial aid would receive a scholarship of $13,000. A student receiving a $9,500 football scholarship would see an increase in gift aid to a total of $13,000. A student with a $5,000 Presidential Scholarship and another $5,000 in Trinity entitlements based on their home state, church affiliation, etc., would also see an increase to a total of $13,000. The EFCA Ordained Family Scholarship will not decrease as long as the student remains a full-time undergraduate student at Trinity. Students who entered Trinity in 2006-2007 or 2007-2008 will continue to receive their original amount of $12,500 until they graduate. The new rate applied to students entering in the fall 2008.
Trinity International University tuition for 2009-2010 is $21,980. With the EFCA Ordained Family Scholarship, the net cost of tuition would be only $8,980—a quality Christian education for less than the tuition of many leading state universities!
To qualify for the EFCA Ordained Family Scholarship, a full-time student must be the son or daughter of an ordained EFCA pastor who is serving in a local Free Church, as a Free Church missionary, or in another denominational or ministry position. Students receiving the EFCA Ordained Family Scholarship are guaranteed to receive a total of $13,000 in gift aid from Trinity each year they remain a full-time undergraduate student at Trinity International University. They also maintain eligibility for Trinity's Church Match Grant program (through which up to $1,000 provided by the church will be matched by Trinity); this is the only additional Trinity gift aid that can be added to this $13,000 award.
