    Dear Ms. Johnson:

I am writing to inquire if there will be fall teaching openings in the Minneapolis public Schools for which I might be considered.  I will receive my B.A. degree from Trinity International University in May, with a double major in elementary education (K-8) and special education (K-9).

As you will note from the enclosed resume, I have had experience with trainable mentally handicapped children, as well as physically handicapped students, at the University Hospital School.  Later this month, I will begin another eight-week full day student teaching experience in a self-contained third grade classroom at Harwood Elementary, Chicago, IL.  This experience with an inner city school is a part of the cooperative Urban Teacher Education program.

My credentials, including references, are on file at the Trinity Career Services Office.  If you anticipate vacancies in either elementary or special education, I would appreciate receiving an application form and information regarding your interviewing procedures.  Thank you for your consideration.

    Sincerely yours,

    Mary Smith

    Dear Ms. Jeannette,

I am writing to apply for the paralegal position that was posted in the Trinity International University Career Services office. The position described in your posting seems to match my career goals and qualifications quite nicely.

As noted on the enclosed resume, I would like to utilize my research and writing skills while working for a law firm as a paralegal.  My academic courses have required a great many research projects and papers. Please see enclosed a few abstracts of my efforts. I hope they demonstrate to you my capacity to undertake research and report findings in a clear and concise fashion.

I can work well under pressure of deadlines, and I have been involved in a great many group projects. My work experiences have taught me that one must be prepared to work beyond the typical forty-hour week to achieve success. I am willing and able to do so for Daley, Daley, and Rogers.

Your active consideration of my credentials would be greatly appreciated. I will call you next Friday to confirm receipt of this letter and to discuss appropriate next steps. Please feel free to contact me if you require additional information to support my candidacy.

    Thank You.

    Sincerely,

    John Smith

    Dear Mr. Oliver,

I am a senior at Trinity International University, majoring in psychology. My desire is to work for a social service agency where I can not only utilize my college education but my love of children and adolescents. After viewing your website, I realized that my future ambitions were a close fit to your organizations' mission and strategic objectives.

I love being with children and helping them through pivotal times. Trying to be a consistent, constructive role model in their lives, I believe in positive discipline methods while having fun and forming relationships. I feel that communication with young people is important in helping them grow into adults. Past employers have noted that I work well with children of all ages and that I have a "heart for kids."

Last summer I worked at a home for handicapped children. I learned to be patient with the individual needs of the children I worked with. The experience there was invaluable as I gained many useful skills in this area. My employers were pleased with the fact that I was a quick learner, that I saw tasks to the end and that I always carried out what was asked of me. This position also allowed me to be in contact with DCFS and the structure that they require of their facilities.

I have enclosed my resume for your review. References are available upon request. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss any position that I might best qualify for at Maryville Academy. Thank you in advance for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Sincerely,

    Juvee Nile

    Dear Ms. Needs:

I am interested in exploring career opportunities in the areas of public relations , marketing, and editing with Tyndale House Publishers, and have enclosed my resume for your reference. As a graduating Senior at Trinity International University, I am seeking an entry-level position that will make use of my applicable English Literature, Biblical Studies and Communication skills.

During my four years at Trinity I have become proficient in journalistic writing as well as writing for areas of business communication. By integrating my analytic literature skills with my study of the Bible, I have been able to assist students with the revising and editing of their papers in a variety of academic subjects.

I addition to my writing skills, I am also a teacher's Assistant for the English Department of my University. In this area I have developed interpersonal relationships with my professors and through the correcting of tests, papers and other projects have been able to gain more experience and efficiency in my own writing.

Having worked for Tyndale House previously, I am seeking to contribute my creative talents once again in an editing and publishing environment. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you and discuss my qualifications further during a personal meeting.

Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to our conversation.

    Sincerely,

    Wilma Foote
