Has the Lew Fireside Café been closed?
Yes. Half Day Roast in Trinity Hall will now be open Monday–Friday from 8:00 a.m. to Midnight and on Sundays from 6:00 p.m. to Midnight. Half Day Roast is a coffee house with additional food selections for meals and snacks all day and into the night.
When will Melton Dining Hall be OPEN during the day?

Why are you no longer offering continuous meal times at Melton Dining Hall?
In between breakfast & lunch and lunch & dinner only a few Meal Plan participants were coming into the dining hall. The new hours for Melton Dining Hall are good stewardship of both staff and food resources.
How can I use my Meal Plan when Melton Dining Hall is closed?
- Order a sack meal in advance during regular operating hours.
- Pick up a to-go meal before you leave Melton during regular operating hours.
- Use Meal Exchange or Munch Money or Points at Half Day Roast, Le Café, and White Horse Inn.
How will the Meal Exchange Program benefit me?
The program allows greater flexibility and convenience for meal plan participants.
This allows grab and go food options for meal plan participants when Melton is closed or for those who do not have time to eat at Melton.
Who qualifies for the Meal Exchange Program?
Block Plan (B210, B140, B125, B100, and Commuter, Staff/Faculty plans) participants can exchange a meal plan swipe for a meal at Half Day Roast, Le Café, and White Horse Inn during regular operating hours. Unlimited Meal Plan participants can exchange a meal plan swipe for a meal at Half Day Roast during Late Night Hours, 8:00 p.m. to Midnight.
What meals will be offered at Half Day Roast, Le Café, and White Horse Inn on the Meal Exchange Program?
There will be a variety of predetermined options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night snacks. Look for the Meal Exchange menu at each location.
What is included in a Meal Exchange meal at Half Day Roast, Le Café, and White Horse Inn?
While the menu will vary, an example of a Meal Exchange meal is sandwich, side, and beverage.
Are there any restrictions on the Meal Exchange Program?
There are some restrictions for Unlimited Meal Plan participants.
- Meal Exchange is available for Unlimited Meal Plan participants only during late night hours at Half Day Roast.
- Unlimited Meal Plan participants cannot use their meal plan swipes for another student or guest.
- Also Unlimited Meal Plan participants are limited to two meal plan swipes per night at Half Day Roast on the Meal Exchange Program.
Can I use multiple swipes at one time on the Meal Exchange Program?
There are no restrictions for Block Plan participants on how many swipes can be used at one time. Unlimited Meal Plan participants are limited to two meal plan swipes per night at Half Day Roast on the Meal Exchange Program.
How is the Meal Exchange Program different from my Munch Money or Points?
With Points or Munch Money, you may purchase any menu item at Half Day Roast, Le Café, and White Horse Inn at the retail value. The Meal Exchange Program allows you to use one of your meal plan swipes in exchange for items on a predetermined Meal Exchange menu.
How can I change my meal plan?
During the first two weeks of the semester, you may change your meal plan through the Student Accounting Office.
How can I add Points?
You may add Points by purchasing these through the Student Accounting Office.
How can I add a Commuter or Staff/Faculty meal plan?
You may add a Meal Plan by purchasing one through the Student Accounting Office.
How is Munch Money different from Points?
- Munch Money is a benefit included with some Residential Meal Plans (B210, B140, B125). $50 of Munch Money is available each semester to be spent at Half Day Roast, Le Café, and White Horse Inn. Munch Money expires at the end of each semester.
- Points are available for purchase through Student Accounting. For every $50 that is purchased, an additional $5 will be added to it. All unused points for the Academic Year expire at the end of the Spring semester.
