When I came as a freshman I had no idea how much I would change and grow during my time here at Trinity. College is an important time of self discovery and much about Trinity impacted my journey. Through the classes I was able to stretch my way of thinking, the range of things that I think about and how I think about them. The commitment of the faculty here at Trinity to their fields and to the individual student makes the learning environment challenging and fun. The community atmosphere fostered life-long relationships with friends, co-workers and faculty. Through the Christian Ministries department I got connected to a local church where I am still a member, serving in the youth ministry. At my church and through Youth Ministry classes I discovered a passion for youth and was given skills to make that passion into something that I can use and contribute to my church. Spiritually I found skills and mentoring relationships with faculty and students that helped me to discover why I believe in Christ. Of course all this self-discovery and education was interspersed with road trips, late night card games, great roommate relationships and exploring Chicago!
Trinity is a fantastic, community-oriented place to study, grow and discover who you are and where you want to go in life. We will help you get there by equipping you with knowledge and skills in your field of study, your personal life, and your spiritual life. Choosing a college is a crucial decision, and there are many things that go into making that choice. I would love to talk with you about the things that go into that choice for you. (no really, I would.)
