In-Course Honors
Regularly offered courses may be taken for honors credit by arranging for In-Course Honors. You must complete at least two honors courses in your major to fulfill Honors Program requirements. Students also honorize courses outside the major to bring their total of honors courses up to the required number of 8.
In-course honors courses typically involve some or all of the following:
- Extra reading and writing
- Independent research
- Individual meetings with the professor
- Higher quality work
The student chooses a course for in-course honors, meets with the professor to secure approval and to work out an In-Course Honors Contract, and submits the contract form to the Director of the Honors Program by the end of the second week of classes.
